Edward Dunaway

Edward Dunaway, age 85, of Foxworth, MS passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Marion General Hospital in Columbia, MS. He attended Richland Creek Church of God and worked for more than 20 years in the oilfield and later at Miller Furniture in Foxworth.

Mr. Dunaway was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Boone Dunaway; parents, Percy Dunaway and Zellie Thornhill Dunaway; and his brother, J.L. Dunaway. He leaves to cherish his memory; three daughters, Amy Cox (Ray) of Waveland, MS, Deirdre Carney (Shannon) of Foxworth, MS, and Brandi Jones (Louis) of Lumberton, MS; a sister, Kathleen Warren of Foxworth, MS; nine grandchildren, Jordan McKenzie, Breanna McKenzie, Nathan Cox, Haley Cox, Stephen Carney, Madison Jones, Justin Jones, Casey Jones, and Shelby Jones; and three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn McKenzie, Judson McKenzie, and Paisley Weary.

Mr. Dunaway’s family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 323 Second St, in Columbia. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with visitation 10:00 AM until service time. Reverend Randall Buchanan will officiate at the service and burial will follow at Richland Creek Cemetery assisted by Jordan McKenzie, Nathan Cox, Mike Warren, Bo Garner, Jeremy Simmons, and David Thornhill as pallbearers, and Stephen Carney as honorary pallbearer.
