Emery A. Pope, aged 70 years of Columbia, MS died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Marion General Hospital. He was longtime owner and manager of Pope Tire Service and a member of Wahabi Shrine Temple, Jackson, MS. He was a member of Foxworth Methodist Church and an accomplished horseman.
Mr. Pope was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Elsie Pope. He is survived by his wife, Claire Pope; a daughter, Priscilla Pope; two sons, Charles (Sabrina) Pope, and Emery (Julia) Pope; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services, officiated by Reverend Reed Houston, will be Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
