Frank "F.D." Teston, of Kokomo, Mississippi, passed from this life into God's presence while surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the age of 91. Born in Natchez, Mississippi to John and Bertie Teston, Frank moved to Kokomo when he was nine years old. He graduated from Columbia High School and went on to lead a life marked by dedication and service.
Frank demonstrated his bravery by serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and his dedication to hard work was evident throughout his life. Frank was not only a poultry and dairy farmer, but also spent many years in New Orleans, Louisiana, as a pet store owner and a skilled technician for Toledo and B&R Scales.
Respected for his work ethic, Frank was equally known for his love of good food and good times, often sharing hearty meals and delightful conversations with family and friends. He was also a vivid storyteller, spending endless hours recounting his many adventures. His stories, rich with humor and wisdom, left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to hear them.
A devoted family man, Frank’s life was deeply rooted in his faith and community. He was an active member of Crossroads Church of God, where he found great joy in serving his Lord and his neighbors. Frank leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and a life well-lived, forever cherished by those who knew him as Husband, Daddy, or Paw.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, J.B. Teston, and his first wife, Mildred Fay Teston. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Dulcie Teston; three sons, Terry Teston, Dale Teston (Margie), and Gary Teston (Belinda); six grandchildren, Katie Harrison, Allen Regan (Kendall), Kristin Teston (Alex), Alesha Teston, Terrie Teston, and Marlena Teston; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation for Frank will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Darrin Powell and Reverend Allen Regan, will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Frank will be laid to rest in the Kokomo Community Cemetery assisted by pallbearers Perry Smith, Justin Smith, Robbie Smith, Shawn Smith, Jeremy Watson, and Craig Hicks. Allen Regan and Lloyd Herring will serve as honorary pallbearers.
