Georgia Ruth Kennedy

Georgia Ruth Kennedy, of Foxworth, Mississippi, passed from this life into God’s presence on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born in Columbia, Mississippi to George and Mary Massengale and has remained a lifelong resident of Walthall and Marion Counties. Georgia was a woman of faith who served her Lord through her membership with Jesus Name Apostolic Church. She had many interests from trips to the Smoky Mountains to the simple pleasures of sitting in her swing listening to Gospel Music with all of her cats and dogs at her feet. Georgia was a prolific reader who was consumed with reading her Bible. She was sweet and kind and will be remembered as the sweetest person that you could ever meet.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Massengale; a son David Massengale; and her beloved husband, Larry Q. Kennedy, Sr. Georgia is survived by a daughter, Angela (Bobby) Bailey; two sons, Larry Q. “Red” Kennedy, Jr. and Gary (Ruth) Kennedy; two sisters, Margie Massengale and Pamela Massengale; three grandchildren, Tiffany (Kyle) Cunningham, Kimberly Kennedy, and Thomas Kennedy; and two great-grandchildren, Blake Cunningham and Michael Cunningham.

There will be a funeral service to celebrate Georgia’s life at Jesus Name Apostolic Church on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 1:00pm. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00am until service time. Burial will follow in the Tylertown City Cemetery.
