Glenda Cooper

Glenda Cooper, of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the age of 74. She was born in Columbia to Ray and Deloris Badon where she has remained a lifelong resident. Glenda worked for many years as a mortgage loan officer and was working for Citizens Bank when she retired. She was a prolific reader, an excellent cook, and she enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. She was sweet and kind and never had an unkind word to say about anyone. Glenda was devoted to her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Greg Cooper. Glenda is survived by a daughter, Dawn Cheree Welch (Scott); four grandchildren, Jordan Sinclair (Jacob), Cole Welch, Raelee Welch, Matthew Welch (Meridith) and Jordan Mitchell (Dustin); and a great-grandson, Cooper Sinclair.

There will be a funeral service to celebrate Glenda’s life at the graveside in New Bunker Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 10:00am. The funeral will be officiated by Reverend Johnathan McLemore. Scott Welch, Jacob Sinclair, Cole Welch, and Wayne McCraw will serve as pallbearers.
