He was born in Marion County, the only son of Ted Wilks Jr. and Janice Bedwell Wilks. He remained a lifelong resident in the New Hope community and was a proud graduate of Columbia Academy in 1987.
Grant had a passion for fast cars, deer hunting and was good at fixing things, a talent that served him well. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Above all he held a deep and abiding love for his family and friends. Grant considered his faith in his Savior Jesus Christ to be his greatest achievement.
Grant is survived by his son Jonah Seria Wilks; parents, Ted and Janice Wilks; grandmother, Elowease Wilks; an uncle, Tony and Janice Wilks; aunt, Rose and Oscar Kemp; and a host of many friends that he loved.
There will be a visitation for Grant at Colonial Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 10:00am until 1:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Doctor Jerry Watts, will follow in the funeral home chapel at 1:00pm. Grant will be laid to rest in Lott Cemetery assisted by Parker Mitchell, Dillon Smith, Wayne Barber, Jerry Sikes, Charles Alford, and Perry Joe Bedwell serving as pallbearers.
