Mr. Jerry L. Germany, age 70 passed away Monday, June 22, 2020 at his residence in Sandy Hook, MS. A lifelong resident of Sandy Hook, he farmed cattle since his teen years, and retired after working 50 years as a residential carpenter. Jerry was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Germany was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Lee Germany and Dovie Sue McKenzie Germany. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dee Germany of Sandy Hook; a son, Bobby Germany and his wife, Leann of Sandy Hook; his sister, Jennifer George and her husband, Gary of Bogalusa, LA; brother, Joel Germany of Sandy Hook; and three grandchildren, Bailey Germany, Breanna Germany, and Brayden Germany. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 9:00pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia, MS. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the funeral home chapel where friends may visit from 9:00am until service time. Reverend Zachary Smith will preside over services and interment will follow at Hurricane Creek Cemetery assisted by Grant Grisham, Gareth Fortenberry, Richard Adcox, Dewayne Ervin, Derrick Jerkins, and Raymond McKenzie as pallbearers.
