Joan Brydon, of Kokomo, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born to Forrest and Edwina Rasch and has been a resident of Marion County since 1999. Joan was a talented artist who enjoyed expressing herself through her paintings and drawings. Her home reflected her creativity and love for making every space feel special. She loved her dogs and loved Mardi Gras. She was devoted to her family and was dedicated to taking care of her husband. Being an excellent cook, Joan enjoyed hosting gatherings for her family and friends. She took great pride in creating a welcoming, beautifully decorated home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Brydon Svendsen; and her beloved husband of 65 years, William W. "Bill" Brydon. Joan is survived by her son, Barry Brydon; and three grandchildren, Ashley Svendsen, Andrew (Sarah) Svendsen, and Christopher (Diew) Svendsen.
There will be a funeral to celebrate Joan's life at the graveside in the Kokomo Community Cemetery on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11:00am.
