John Donald Berry, Jr., of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away at the age of 69. He was born in Marion County to Donald and Grace Berry where he has remained a lifelong resident. John was a longtime member of Edna Baptist Church. He was a proud father and grandfather who loved his family deeply. John will be remembered as a jokester with a great sense of humor who was a great storyteller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Grace Berry. John is survived by his daughter, Samantha Berry; two sons, Philip "Bo" Berry (Kati) and Stephen Berry; a sister, Gwen Gaines; two brothers, Neil Berry (Cyndi) and Michael Berry; and four grandchildren Kaycie Robbins, Kent Robbins, JD Berry, and James Berry.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate John's life at Colonial Funeral Home on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 1:00pm. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00am until service time.
