John Dubose Sr., age 84, of Columbia, MS passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024 at the State Veterans Home in Collins, MS. He proudly served in the US Army and the MS National Guard. John went on to work in the oilfields founding Radco Fishing and Rental Tools, Inc., a business he owned until his retirement. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church, loved his family and enjoyed life with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. DuBose was preceded in death by his wife, Linda DuBose; parents, Dr. David DuBose and Daisy Anglin DuBose; and brothers, Jake DuBose, and Mack DuBose. He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Bryant (Darnell) of Columbia; sons, John DuBose, Sr. (Carla)of Lumberton, MS, Paul DuBose (Susan) of Hattiesburg, MS, and Stewart DuBose of Shreveport, LA; a sister, Alice Lockhart of Lumberton; ten grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Mr. DuBose will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia. Funeral services, officiated by Reverend Darnell Bryant, will be conducted Friday, August 30, 2024 at 3:30 PM at Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery assisted by John DuBose, Jr., Caleb Bryant, Jeremy Johnson, Manson DuBose, Stewart DuBose and Steve Jones as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers, Paul DuBose, and Micah DuBose.
