John Lovall Robbins, of Columbia, Mississippi passed away in Hattiesburg on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at the age of 90. Mr. Robbins was born and raised in Columbia and attended Mississippi State University where he played basketball and baseball. During his time at MSU, he answered our country’s call and volunteered to serve in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Robbins was very intelligent, athletic, and opinionated. He taught men how to be good men and will be remembered as the nicest person that anyone could meet. He was devoted to his family and his absence now leaves a deep void. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Carroll Robbins and Ebbie Williams Robbins; and a sister, Carolyn Geter. Mr. Robbins is survived by his wife, Carol Robbins; two sons, John Michael Robbins and Jeffrey Robbins; and a brother, Bryan Lynn Robbins. There will be a private graveside service and burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia.
