Johnny Ray Breeland, of Sumrall, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the age of 67. He was born in Columbia, Mississippi as one of eleven children to Robert and Jimmie Lee Breeland and has been a resident of Sumrall for the past 29 years. Johnny was a great provider and hard worker who worked all of his life as pipeline welder in the oil and gas industry. He took great pride in his work and was a mentor to many aspiring welders. When not working, he loved to spend time racing cars at the dirt track and enjoyed precious time with his family. Johnny was a loving husband and father who was totally devoted to his family. He will be remembered as a straight shooter with a great sense of humor and quick wit who left no doubt about where he stood with his political position. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Allen Ray Breeland; and a daughter, Charity Breeland. Johnny is survived by his wife, Barbara Breeland; two daughters, Amanda Jade Breeland and Amber Lynn Breeland; an honorary son, Travis (Julie) Slade; honorary grandson, Logan Slade; two sisters, Barbara Mainor and Judy (Fego) Nava; seven brothers, Milton Breeland, Billy (Barbara) Breeland, Harry (Cathy) Breeland, Donald (Doreen) Breeland, Glen Breeland, Herbert Breeland, and David (Sonya) Breeland; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service for Johnny at 1:00pm on Monday, October 12, 2020 in the First Pentecostal Church of Sumrall officiated by Reverend Clint Bourn. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 12:00pm until service time.
