Juanita T Lowery, age 87 departed this life into God's presence on Friday, June 13, 2025, surrounded by family. She was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church, Foxworth, Mississippi. Juanita was a hard worker who started her career in the 50's at Tylertown Drug Store. The rest of her working career was on her brother, J.D.'s dairy farm up until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Lowery; parents, Benjamin Kenzie Turnage and Ettie Pittman Turnage; five brothers, J.D. Turnage, Fred Turnage, Wayne Turnage, Willie Fay Turnage and Dewitt Turnage.
Left to forever cherish her memory, her one son, Ricky Lowery (Teresa); two grandchildren, Courtney Gartman (Jared) and Abigail Lowery (Dylan); three great-grandchildren, Caroline Gartman, Mary Katherine Martin and Olivia Gartman; two nephews, Keith Turnage and Bengie Turnage and one sister-in-law, JoHelon Turnage.
Family and friends are invited to attend Juanita's visitation on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Colonial Funeral Home, 323 Second Street, Columbia, Mississippi from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Juanita's funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Lott Cemetery, Foxworth, Mississippi, with Keith Turnage, Kenzie Turnage, Wayne Hilton, Bryan Dixon, Wilbert Stewart and Raymond Lee serving as pallbearers.
