Kristy Golemon, of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the age of 51. She was born in Columbia to Rudolph and Emma Jean Golemon and has remained a lifelong resident of Columbia. Kristy was a graduate of Columbia High School. She earned an Associate’s Degree from Jones Junior College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, and Master's of Education from William Carey University. Kristy devoted her life to teaching Special Education students wherever she was needed from Forrest County to Pike County and her students knew that they were her number one priority. She was an avid New Orleans Saints fan, enjoyed fishing, traveling, and loved her animals. Kristy loved people and was loved by everyone who met her. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Randy Joe Golemon, Debra Durham, Dana Ward, Timothy Golemon, and Donna Breakfield. Kristy is survived by her wife, Caitlin Golemon; four nephews, Robert Durham (Emily), Adam Breakfield (Jessica), Michael Cranford (Melanie), and Justin Cranford (Destiny); her mother-in-law, Kerry Burns; two best friends, Cheryl Johnson and Shelly Cranford; and her animals who were like her children, Kai, Asher, Sada Grace, Mr. Jinx, Nicola Tesla, Romeo, and Thibault.
There will be a funeral service to celebrate the life of Kristy at Colonial Funeral Home on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 4:00pm. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00pm until service time.
