Lonnie R. Turnage

Lonnie R. Turnage, age 78 of Foxworth, MS passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023. He was a veteran of the US Army and worked at APAC more than 20 years when he retired. Lonnie had a passion for playing dominos and spades, and enjoyed football and spending time with his family and friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Turnage; father, Luther Turnage, and mother, Elois Jones; and sister, Myrtle Hollie. He is survived by his daughters, Angela Turnage, and Loni Turnage Breeden (Mackie); his son, Donnie Turnage; a sister, Ethel Jones; five grandchildren, Sarina Foxworth, Dakota Foxworth, Krysten Turnage, Larkin Foxworth, and Alejandra Torres; and two great-grandchildren, Kinyrie Baham, and Demontre Baham.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia, MS. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 12:00pm. Reverend Zach Smith will officiate and burial will follow at Turnage Chapel Cemetery assisted by Bill Jones, Jimmy Jones, Robert Graves, Darrell McCain, Chris Turnage, and Shelton Merritt as pallbearers, and honorary pallbearer, Billy Buchanan.
