Lozanie Berry

Lozanie Berry, of the New Hope Community in Foxworth, Mississippi, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the age of 87. She was raised in the Kokomo Community and has remained a lifelong resident of Marion County. Lozanie loved gardening and anything to do with vegetables and flowers. Her family was her top priority and she will be remembered for the great love she had for her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Newsom and Sylvia McCain; two brothers, Nelson McCain and Johnny McCain; three children, Wayne Berry, Rejina Berry, and Kevin Berry, one grandchild, Shannon Martin; one great-grandchild, Thomas Daniel Martin; and her beloved husband, Doyle Berry. Lozanie is survived by a daughter, Judy Martin (Ronnie); four grandchildren, T.W. Martin (Amy), Brandi Gartman (Jason), Jeremy Harrell, and Bobby Harrell; six great-grandchildren, Hannah Martin, Caitlin Gartman, Chelsea Phillips (Tyler), Jared Gartman (Courtney), Shannah Martin, and Levi Martin; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a funeral service, officiated by Reverend Hiram Campbell, for Lozanie at Colonial Funeral Home on Thursdsay, February 9, 2023 at 11:00am. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00am until service time. She will be laid to rest in Lott Cemetery assisted by Dustin McCain, David McCain, George McCain, Blake Henry, Jason Scarborough, and Tommy Scarborough serving as pallbearers.
