Luther Fred "Freddie" Johnson Jr.

Luther Fred "Freddie" Johnson, Jr., of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at the age of 68. He was born in Columbia to Lexie Jane and Luther Fred "Luke" Johnson, Sr. where he has remained a lifelong resident. Freddie had a great sense of humor and was known as a jokester who loved pranks. He was a hard worker, but when he was not working, he loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. Freddie was devoted to his family and will be remembered for the love he had for his wife and children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Savana Sanders and a great-grandson, Brett Sanders. Freddie is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Johnson; a daughter, Mary Ann Sanders (Billy); three sons, John C. Jones, Richard C Jones (Lexie), and James A. Jones; two sisters, Wanda Ann Hararo (Chico) and Gail Davis; a brother, Robert Johnson (Barbara); grandchildren, Kayla Sanders, Josh Sanders, Bailey Jones, Hannah Jones, Lauren Jones, Tyler Jones and Mimi Jones; great-grandchildren, Garrett Stringer, Raine Jones, and one on the way.

There will be a visitation for Freddie at Colonial Funeral Home on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Steve Albritton and Reverend Tommy Pittman, will be on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 1:00pm. Freddie will be laid to rest in the Foxworth Cemetery assisted by Billy Sanders, Richard Jones, Keith Barber, John Jones, Josh Sanders, and Austin Stringer serving as pallbearers. Ricky Messer and Ken Davis will serve as honorary pallbearers.
