Margaret Price Lee, of Columbia, Mississippi, was surrounded by her family and friends when she passed away on June 27, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on September 4, 1931, in Sicily Island, Louisiana, to Guy and Eura Lee Price and was raised by her Uncle Dalton and Aunt Mattie Stewart in the Buck Branch community in Pearl River County, Mississippi. Margaret has been a resident of Marion County for over sixty years and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Columbia. One of her greatest joys was working in the church library, where she shared her love of books and fellowship with others.
To those who knew her, Margaret was the very definition of a loving grandmother. She loved deeply, gave generously, and always made those around her feel cared for. Her gentle spirit, warm heart, and steadfast faith left an impression on everyone she met. Many mornings began with her joyfully singing, “This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.” Those words reflected the way she lived each day - with gratitude, hope, and trust in the Lord. She lived a life defined by unwavering faith, kindness, and love for her family. Though her family grieves her passing, they find comfort in knowing she is reunited with those who went before her and is now resting in the presence of her Savior. Her legacy of faith, love, and compassion will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. While her laughter, hugs, songs, and unwavering love will be deeply missed, her family will be forever grateful for the blessing and privilege of calling her theirs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Eura Lee Price; her brothers, RG Price and James Price; her sister, Alice Price; her husband, Rev. George Lee; her son, Tim Lee; her granddaughter, Victoria Lee, and her grandson, Justin Lee.
She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her sons, Fred Lee (Ruthie) and Rob Lee (Shelly); her daughter, Lisa Mistich; her grandchildren, Isabella Herrera (Edwin), Forrest, Brayan, and Sophia Lee, Abbey Nash (Scott), Joshua Lee, Sarah McCain (David), and Adam Mercier (Sierra); seven great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Charlotte Nash, Kiely, Scarlett, and Charlie McCain, Beckham Mercier, and Althea Lee; and numerous other family members and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in her honor to be made to Hope Community Collective. You can give online at https://www.hopecommunitycollective.com/give
