Michael Lowery, 75, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at his home in Cheraw. Born on September 14, 1947 in Tylertown, Mike was the eldest son of Melvin and Iris Lowery of the New Hope community.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his brothers Donald (Patsy) Lowery, Ronald Lowery, and Junior Lowery; his companion, Cathy Duncan; children, Shayne (Kathryn) Lowery, Shae (Jennifer) Lowery, Kim Corsentino, Greg Mayers, Becky Mayers; wife, Lillie Lowery; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A graduate of West Marion and Nashville Auto-Diesel College, Mike was a dairy farmer, offshore worker, and heavy equipment business owner. Mike loved horses and he loved to work. He enjoyed firing up his large smoker and took great pride in hosting meals for the West Marion Football team, providing the turkey for the annual Stringer Thanksgiving gathering, and delivering holiday hams to customers, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, from noon until the service at 2 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lott Cemetery and a meal for family and friends will be held at New Hope Baptist Church.
Chris Crawford, T.C. Crawford, Garrett Crawford, Jacob Mayers, Brody Kleinpeter, Dalton Kleinpeter, Eli Lowery, Ryan Stringer, and Jayden Duncan will serve as pallbearers and Dr. Jerry N. Watts will officiate the services.
If friends and family so wish, memorial donations could be made to New Hope Baptist Church or the Lott Cemetery fund.
