On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, Piper Rayne Penelope Slocum, of Columbia, Mississippi, left her loving family and returned into the hands of her Creator after thirteen days. She was born on August 27, 2026, to Daniel and Brittany Slocum. Piper was a little angel and though she was here for just a little while, she left behind a lifetime of love. Her tiny hands and precious face will forever be held in the hearts of all who were blessed to hold her. Sleep peacefully in the arms of Jesus until we are reunited in God's presence one day.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ricky and Penny Slocum. Piper is survived by her parents, Daniel and Brittany Slocum; her sisters, Summer Slocum and Gracie Slocum; her brothers, Shavis Slocum and Chase Slocum; her maternal grandparents, John and Monica Kelly; her aunts, Alyssa Kelly and Sarah Kelly; her uncles, Dustyn Kelly and Prentiss Slocum. There will be a funeral service at Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 2:00pm. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00am until service time.89 The funeral service will be officiated by Reverend Brian Stewart. Piper will be laid to rest in the Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery assisted by Dustyn Kelly and Shavis Slocum serving as pallbearers. Karstyn Kelly, John Kelly, Maddox Temples, and Waylon Temples will serve as honorary pallbearers.
