Started first grade with Hank (1968 or 69). He lived on Donna Ave., about a block from West Side School. We were the last group to attend 6th grade at that location (1974). Went to school all 12 years together and graduated from Elizabethton High School in May of 1980. Lost track after that but thought of him often, wondered where he was, how his life had ended up. Always such a wonderful upbeat guy, happy go lucky. I guess my last solid memory of him was a physics class we had together our senior year. Taught by old Mrs Brower who I have no doubt trained under Sir Issac Newton himself back in the day. Hanks's humming a tune in class one day. I ask what it was and he started belting out Bounty Hunter by Molly Hatchet right there in class. Still makes me smile. And I think about Hank still today every time I hear that band. Wish I could have seen him again, one more time, but we all feel that way about someone from time to time. Just life I guess. He was a great guy. Rest in peace old friend. Larry Bristol

Hank is my casein...I haven’t see him in years but, this is very sad news. My grief is profound and I morn with his family.

When we grow up, many times...we grow apart! That’s just the way life is. Careers can take us in different directions and we loose touch. Sadly, that was the case with us.
I’ve never forgotten the good times we shared back in TN. Family events, holidays and later, high school. We had a blast!
Often, my memories will take me back there, to Hank and all the rest, (so many gone now), on that little farm on Coal Shute Rd, running through the woods, playing Batman and Robin...carefree times!

Rest well little brother, I’ll see you down the road.
