Mr. Richard Mark Lott, age 65 passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. A longtime resident of Sandy Hook, MS, he was a beef cattle and dairy farmer and a 1974 graduate of West Marion High School. Mark loved horses and participated in the Oklahoma City, OK Rodeo World Finals in team penning. He was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church where in 1992, he played catcher for the church softball team helping secure the MS State Softball Championship of that year. He set the example of a devoted Christian man and will be missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Lott was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Warren Lott and Edith Evelyn Pittman Lott. He is survived by his brother, Dewey Lott and his wife, Julia of Sandy Hook; a niece, Candice Nicole Breaux and her husband, Curt of Houston, TX; a nephew, Dewey Warren Lott and his wife, Chelsea of Sandy Hook; two great-nieces, Addison Lott, and Ava Lott; and two great-nephews, Camren Breaux, and Christian Breaux.
There will be a funeral service for Mark at 3:00 PM on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Hurricane Creek Baptist Church. Reverend Zach Smith will officiate and interment will follow at the church cemetery assisted by Todd Thomas, Mike Thomas, Randy Sumrall, Bill Sartin, Mike Stringer, and Warren Lott as pallbearers and Frank Prisk and Chad Rowley as honorary pallbearers.
