On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, Ronnie Williamson, of Foxworth, Mississippi passed from this life into God's presence at the age of 76. He was born in Tylertown, Mississippi to J.C. and Ina Williamson and was raised on the family's cotton and dairy farm in Foxworth. Ronnie ran his own dairy farm for a number of years after graduating from West Marion High School in 1967. His decision to go work in the oil field began a long career in the oil and gas industry. Ronnie was working with Chevron as a Wellwork Supervisor when he retired after a career spanning 40 years in the industry. He was once an avid squirrel hunter, but in his later years, Ronnie found great pleasure in watching the squirrels that he fed, along with the birds, and the deer. If you knew Ronnie, you would know that he was a man of deep faith who served his Lord and his community through his membership with Kokomo Baptist Church. He was also a Gideon and was a gifted speaker, sharing the stories of God's work through The Gideons International. Ronnie was devoted to his family and will be remembered for the deep love that he had for his wife, children, and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Williamson; a daughter, Rebecca Hutchison; a brother, Jack Williamson; and his faithful canine companion, Bo. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 37 years, Bonnie Williamson; a daughter, Lynn Jones (Robert); a son, Jim Hinton; a sister, Judy Fortenberry (Avery); a brother, Donnie Williamson (Sandra); six grandchildren, Kye Taylor (Taylor), Shannon Harrell (Cody), Zachary Hutchison (Abby), Nick Hutchison (Kailey), Sam Hinton, and Jack Hinton; and five great-grandchildren, Mollie, Hayden, Sandy, Beckett, Holland, and one on the way.
There will be a funeral service to celebrate Ronnie's life at Colonial Funeral Home on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 1:00pm. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00am until service time. The funeral service will be officiated Reverend Glenn Nace and Kevin Shows and Lucas Stringer will be providing special music. Burial will follow in the Kokomo Community Cemetery assisted by Andy Moore, Justin Williamson, Chris Fancher, Kye Taylor, Cody Harrell, and Marlon McAdams serving as pallbearers.
