On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Samuel Steven "Sam" Williamson, of Foxworth, Mississippi, left us behind and stepped into the presence of Jesus at the age of 39. He was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Steve and Beverly Williamson and has been a lifelong resident of Morgantown. Sam has traveled the country extensively and was always excited about exploring new places. He loved all animals; but had a special love for cats. Sam was an avid gamer, enjoyed Star Wars movies, Marvel Super-Hero movies and comics, and had an extensive collection of movie memorabilia. He loved his family fiercely and always enjoyed family gatherings. However, Sam's greatest love was for his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a man of deep faith who was passionate about studying the Word of God.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl and Chris Williamson and his maternal grandparents, Moses and Mamie Smith. Sam is survived by his parents, Steve and Beverly Williamson; the love of his life, his fiancee, Tiffany Dawn Cooper; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
There will be a funeral service to celebrate Sam's life at Colonial Funeral Home on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00am where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 until service time. The funeral service will be officiated by Reverend Randy Buchanan and burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery.
