On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Vicky Nell Lowery, of Perkinston, Mississippi, passed from this life into God's presence at the age of 58. She was born in Biloxi, Mississippi to Nelda and Bobby Smith, Sr and was raised in the New Hope Community of Marion County, graduating from West Marion High School. Known for her work ethic, Vicky was employed with The Estate at River Bend in Lucedale where she dedicated her time and energy helping others recovering from their addiction. If you spent any time with her, you would know that she adored her grandchildren and was happiest when she was in their presence. Vicky was a generous, welcoming, and forgiving soul who will be remembered for her ability to love unconditionally and be accepting without judgement.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby R. Smith, Sr. and a brother, Darrin Ray Smith. Vicky is survived by her husband, Lonnie Lowery; two daughters, Rebecca Delancey (Jonathan Waller) and Shelby Smith (Bradley Broom); a son, Dearld "D.J." Delancey (Asia); her mother and stepfather, Nelda and Hoyt Crain; a brother, Bobby R. Smith, Jr.; and three grandchildren, Dallas Waller, Tucker Waller, and Dean Delancey.
Reverend Darrin Powell will officiate a funeral service to celebrate Vicky's life at Colonial Funeral Home on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11:00am. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00am until service time.
