Aj was born on May 02, 1959 in Toronto, Ontario Canada to newly immigrated parents from the UK, and his childhood memories were steeped in his family embracing Canadian traditions. He had fond memories of growing up in a home with his three brothers where a passion for sports dominated and summers at the cottage created many stories of fun times shared together.
Aj pursued degrees in chemical engineering and an MBA. It was in college in Toronto where he met his beloved wife Andrea and they were married in 1982 in Guyana, South America.
His entire career was spent in the pharmaceutical industry working his way through various aspects of manufacturing operations to overseeing multiple sites within the network. He was a visionary and transformational leader who was passionate about mentoring young talent and building strong and cohesive leadership teams.
He was known to be a man of few words, who led by example with integrity, commitment and a determination to accomplish his goals.
Aj’s greatest pride however, was the family that he and Andrea nurtured with an abundance of love and values that created a home that was always filled with unity, trust, respect and joy.
His career offered the opportunities for various relocations, with new adventures embraced and more special memories created for his family. Aj left this world very thankful that John (Maddie), Iain (Kate), and Nia (Chris) have all chosen partners who are also committed to continuing the legacy of building strong, principled, loving families and he is so thankful that he was able to experience a whole new chapter of joy and love with the birth of his first grandchild, Mila, one year ago.
Aj has requested a private cremation and in true Aj style - with his passion for golf and enjoying great conversations with a drink in hand - the family invite you to join them in sharing some ‘Aj Memories’ at the Woodcreek Club, 301 Club Ridge Road, Elgin, South Carolina, 29045 on Thursday, November 2nd at 4:30 pm.
In lieu of donations, Aj would like for you to make a special memory with some loved ones.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.dunbarfuneralhomenortheast.com for the Crerar family.
