

COLUMBIA - Ann Jefferies Shelton, 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Columbia on Friday, March 4, 2016. Ann was born May 31, 1929 in Gaffney, SC to the late Harry and Maggie Jefferies. Ann was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia. She taught third grade Sunday school for 30 years. Ann loved being involved in the children’s ministry, and she was Co-Director of WMU and was a member of Oasis Senior Adult Organization., and was recognized as an outstanding volunteer. She loved her church. Ann was employed for 17 years at South Carolina Department of Higher Education until retirement. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and represented him well in her daily life. She never hesitated to share her faith or offer a helping hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed reading and writing, singing and spending time with family and friends. She loved to cook for her family and was really pleased that they took over the tradition. As her illness took its toll; she only cared more for “her children”.
She leaves loving memories to her daughters, Susan Parks, Leigh Reese, Beth Wingate, Katherine Shelton; son, Olin Shelton; grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2016 at Boyce Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to the service in the chapel.
