

Sergeant First Class Bobby Gayle Pickett, age 76, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, in Columbia, South Carolina. Born on February 18, 1948, Bobby dedicated his life to his family and his country. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Army for 20 years. During his time on active duty, he received numerous awards and honors. His unwavering commitment to service and leadership left a lasting impact on those who served alongside him.
Bobby was preceded in death by his former wife, Eva N. Pickett, the mother of his six children; his daughter, Chundra Pickett; and his grandson, Travis Pickett. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Pickett, and his five children: Teriney, Marsha, Kimberly, Erica, and Nicholas. His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren—Breana, RaShawn, Ariana, and Sydney—who brought immense joy to his life.
Bobby’s life was defined by his steadfast dedication to his family and community. Known for his kindness, strength, and wisdom, he inspired these qualities in those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the values he instilled will endure in the hearts of his family and friends.
As we remember Bobby, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, service, and devotion. His memory will forever be a guiding light to his family and all who knew him.
A funeral services for Bobby will be held Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Dunbar Funeral Home - Northeast Chapel, 4219 Hard Scrabble Rd, Columbia, South Carolina 29223. Following the funeral services, he will be laid to rest with full military honors at 1:00 PM at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, South Carolina 29229.
