Mr. Bossell Gillian

COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Bossell “Papa” Gillian, 98, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Dutch Fork Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel. Memorials may be made to Dutch Fork Baptist Church 3433 Dreher Shoal Road, Ballentine, SC 29002 or White Rock Baptist Church, 1409 Peace Haven Road, Chapin, SC 29036.

Mr. Gillian was born February 1, 1914 in Saluda County, SC and passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012. He was a son of the late Jasper Gillian and Lela Shealy Gillian. He was a member of Dutch Fork Baptist Church. He retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas Company.

Mr. Gillian is survived by his daughter, Mary Sharpe (Bobby); grandsons, Chuck and Chris Sharpe, Jerry, Terry, Brian and Garrett Gillian; eleven great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Jonnie Gillian. He was predeceased by his son, Harold L. Gillian and wife, Sadie L. Gillian.
