We only met Brian one time and he was in inspiration to us how happy he was with all the medical issues he was dealing with.  A great, wonderful person indeed.

A story is told of a Sensei and a pupil at the beach.  The pupil tried repeatedly to block the bad waves and embrace the good without much success.  Wisdom comes in knowing that you will be overwhelmed by both happy and sad experiences and memories.  The enlightened soul neither seeks the good nor avoids the bad.  Rather, one sits unperturbed by life all around and lives as best as one can.

Brian demonstrated this kind of courage in his struggle with cancer.  I told him in my last FB post to him that he was my hero

It is evident from the comments how much Brian inspired others - even those he never met, including me.  It is also evident how much he was loved and will be missed.  Alton, thank you for sharing Brian's story of courage and gratitude.  Each of you have been your better selves because of the other. Now that Brian's work here is done, he can sleep easy. 

We pray you move forward in grace, love, peace, and strength. Continue to move from glory to glory, making Brian proud as you carry him in your heart now and always.

I never met Brian, but heard so much about him from my friend Clint.   May he be at peace now.  Heaven has gained another angel.  My thoughts,heart and prayers go out to his family and friends.  May you have many precious memories to help you through this time.

Brian inspired, encouraged, promoted and supported.  He was smart and wise and he was funny to the core.  His dry sense of humor meshed perfectly with my own and he never failed to get me.  I was blessed to work with Brian, to be his friend and for a while, his neighbor.  He was B to Alton's A and together - just the best.  My love goes out to A and to their families on this loss.  B will be in my heart always.

I didn't know Brian personally, but he was a customer of ours at Appliance Professional, and I always enjoyed talking to him whenever we would schedule appointments. He was always so nice, and he would always mention his husband. Condolences to the family.

Brian, you're an inspiration to the friends and family you left behind. It has been a distinct pleasure to know you, sir. Although you were the complete professional when you needed to be, you still made time to crack jokes  jokes that, sometimes, only you seemed to get. Still, I always found myself laughing along with you. You were a great mentor, compassionate coach, excellent travel buddy, and beautifully curious soul. Laughing, smiling and encouraging to others, especially to me when we worked together  that's how I'll remember you always. Although your physical being is no longer here, I take deep comfort in knowing you're energy surrounds us all. As an angel, watch over us mortals stuck down here on planet Earth. Someday, we'll meet again, friend. 
Alton, please take comfort in my prayers. I can only imagine what you must be feeling right now. You knew Brian better than us all and I know you feel his absence in a way none of us can. I read the following passage recently and I think it applies when thinking of Brian:  Be ready. Be seated. See what courage sounds like. You know all too well of Brian's courage over the last bit. While his storm raged, you stood by him. You displayed courage of your own. I pray you find calm, comfort and peace in Brian's memory. God bless.

I'm so sorry to learn of the loss of you beloved brother Brian.  Although I did not have the pleasure of meeting Brian I fondly remember how much you loved him.  You demonstrated that to me personally the time we traveled together in the Southeast and you made the effort to reach Brian's home for the weekend before returning home to Colorado. May God Bless and comfort you and your family and friends in your time of loss.

My prayer is that God continue to give you strenght Alton and peace. I am thankful along with you for all the memories created with Brian and the knowledge that he is in a better place. Hugs.
