David Jerald Kemper, 82, passed away on June 20, 2026, in Columbia, SC. He was born May 13, 1944, in Peru, IL and was a former resident of Wauconda, IL, living at Terrabella Windsor Lake Retirement Home in Columbia, SC for the past 9 years.
David retired as a shipping manager for Banta Corporation in Elk Grove Village, IL. He was an avid White Sox and Chicago Bears Fan. David enjoyed playing baseball as a child and continued his love of sports for his entire life. He cherished the simple pleasures of life, especially reading and gathering around the table for card games with his friends at the retirement home.
He is survived by his sisters, Cheryl Cooper and Theresa “Terri” Wilton; Niece, Jennifer Brockmeier (Jeff) and great nephew Jacob Brockmeier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Geraldine Kemper; and his two brothers-in-law, Gordon Cooper and Grant Wilton.
The family will celebrate his life from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Dunbar Funeral Home – Northeast Chapel, 4219 Hard Scrabble Road, Columbia, SC 29223.
