Debra Porter Lester

Debbie recently retired from a long career with Avis where she worked hard and paid attention to details. Even though physically strenuous on her body, it was important to her to see her career through.

She enjoyed life to the fullest. She always made sure to include everyone in family gatherings, poolside party and holiday get togethers. Family was important to her. She just wanted everyone to get along because “that is your family”.

She was an avid dog lover. Her dogs were her children. Recently she also took an interest in hummingbirds.Debbie was larger than life; genuine and sincere. Always speaking her mind, never left you to guess. She loved life and will be deeply missed.

Debbie is survived by her partner of more than 25 years, David R. Russell; Stepsons David D. Russell (Kindra) and Michael Russell (Nicole); Step grandchildren, Bryson, Deven, Chase, Austin (David and Kindra); Aiden, Ethan and Riley (Michael and Nicole); and extended Russell family in-laws, nieces, nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother, father and sister.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Left Base located at 7776 Edmund Highway, Pelion, SC 29123.
