He retired from the University of South Carolina Maintenance after 28 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He spent his days enjoying wood burning, carving projects, painting, sitting on his porch watching the birds, and puttering around his garden. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his beautiful family. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Marie Jones; children, Elizabeth (Stuart) Ridge and Timothy (Charlene) Jones; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by both his mother and father, as well as his stepmother.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
