Dorinda J. Gleason-Ergle

Dorinda June Gleason-Ergle, 69, passed away October 6, 2023 in Columbia, SC. Dorinda was born in Oregon to Robert Gleason and Anita Gleason (deceased), and lived much of her younger life in Los Angeles.

She was a graduate of Righetti High School of San Maria, California, and retired from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in 2021. She was quite the traveler having spent time in Turkey, Oklahoma, Texas, and South Carolina where she ultimately settled and retired. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners, and enjoyed NASCAR and trips to the casino. She had a fondness for Chihuahuas having included eight of them into her family in her lifetime.

Dorinda was predeceased by her mother, Anita Gleason, and her son, Stephen Spain.

Surviving members of her family include her husband, Darryl Ergle of Columbia; her father, Robert Gleason of California; ex-husband, Jerry Spain of Texas; son, Robert Spain of California; sisters, Dayle Cantu of Ohio and Debbie (Don) Rolando of California; brothers, Dana Gleason of California, and Donovan (Cheryl) Gleason of California; and many grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

A celebration of her life will be held at a date and location to be announced later. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to your local ASPCA chapter.
