Doris Evalis Thompson heard the pronouncement of her Lord, Jesus, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” On January 13, 2022 she followed her husband of 71 years, Clancy Thompson, into the arms of her savior. She leaves behind a grieving family of 3 sons, Brian (Marge) Thompson, Mark (Beverly) Thompson, and Steven (Jessica) Thompson; 18 doting grandkids, and 17 great grandchildren.
Doris and Clancy gave their lives in service of their Lord. Both feeling called as missionaries since childhood, they served over 25 years on the mission field in Brazil. Doris also served as a pastor’s wife for 15 years and partnered with Clancy as they ministered to people all over the world. They retired in Clarkston to be near family in 2000. Doris never stopped serving, always the immaculate hostess to guests and friends, loving on grand and great grandchildren, and staying active with neighbors and local friends. She stepped into the role of caregiver to her husband over the last 3 years in assisted living, faithfully supporting him.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10 AM at Waypoint Church, 8400 Dixie Hwy, Village of Clarkston, MI 48348.
