Dorothy H. Madden, 81, of Leesville, SC passed away on February 7, 2021. She was born in Swansea, SC on November 19, 1939. Mrs. Madden was the daughter of the late David Boyd and Myrtis Sturkie Hayes.
Dorothy was a member of Gilbert Baptist Church. She graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School and was crowned Miss Bearcat in 1956. She loved horses, enjoyed sewing and taking care of her family. Dorothy was the most selfless person who enjoyed providing for her family and was adored by her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, William C. Madden of Leesville; sons, Larry Madden of Irmo, Christopher Matthew Madden of Leesville, SC; daughters, Lisa Bifield of South Congaree, Lynn Madden of Gaston, Tana Goodwin (John) of Lexington, and Tasha Nicasio of Columbia; grandchildren, Jason, Austin, Danica, Brittany, Tyler, Melachi, Tyce, Grayson, and Lana; and brother, John Boyd Hayes of Lexington.
A private burial service will be held on a later date at Elmwood Cemetery. Elmwood Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family.
