

COLUMBIA - Mrs. Dorothy Lindler Noto, beloved wife, mother, aunt and friend, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Irmo, at 11:00 a.m. with burial in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Reverend Dr. Karen Young and Reverend Ronald L. Diegel will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 10,000 Broad River Road, Irmo, SC 29063 or to the charity of one’s choice.
Born in Irmo on October 13, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Zula McCartha Lindler. She graduated from Irmo High School. She began work first at J. S. Kress; then later at the FHA at the Federal Land Bank and finally at General Electric. Her most fulfilling job was that of mother and homemaker. In 1944 she met a handsome Marine and they married in June of 1946. She was a lifetime faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her loving and devoted family: Nicholas D. Noto, husband of 62 years; her precious daughter, Mary N. Steadman and son, David G. Noto; sister, Evelyn L. (Harold) Epting and numerous nieces and nephews who adored her. She was predeceased by sisters, Callie Mae Lindler, Loree L. Bouknight, Reba L. Fort, Gertrude L. Harris, and Olive L. Eleazer and by brothers, Fred W. Lindler and Carroll M. Lindler. She was loved by so many friends and family, especially her dear nieces, Elaine, Janice, Harriet and Carolyn.
