Irmo – Edna Ruth Johnson, 80, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015. She was born in Lawrence County, AL on April 9, 1934 to the late Guy H. Smith and Mary Bertha Clemons.
Edna’s first love was her family, she loved cooking for her children. She loved to fish and watch her boy’s play golf. In her earlier years, she enjoyed traveling to the mountains and camping.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her children, Cecil Allen (Tonya), Mary Elizabeth, Brian Glenn, Byron Lynn (Debbie) and Wendell Allen (Leslie) Johnson; grandchildren, Chris, Heather, Nicholas, Ashley, Sara, Steven, Shawn, Matthew and Alex; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Carter, Gavin, Jordyn, Tyler, Jackson, Dylan, Eliot, Harper, Daniel, Thomas, Emmalea, Jarica, Flynn, Kori and Madilyn; brothers, Guy S. Smith (Judy), Rev. Charles W. Smith (Sandra) and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Johnson is predeceased by her husband Cecil A. Johnson. The family will gather together at a later date for a Celebration of Life.
