Edward E. Weeter, age 78 of Elgin, SC passed away on June 26, 2025 at Karesh Long Term Care and Rehab. Born on July 7, 1946 in Franklin, PA, he was the son of the late Eugene Weeter and Betty Gross Weeter of Knox, PA.
When Ed was young, growing up in Knox, he was the local paper boy for years. He had many entertaining stories from those days. At the age of 13, he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes which greatly affected his whole life. He struggled with many health issues stemming from his diabetes.
He was baptized at Knox United Methodist Church and was a former member.
He graduated in 1964 from Keystone High School in Knox. He then went on to Penn State University where he graduated with a BS in Finance in 1968. He also attended Stonier Graduate School of Banking and attained his diploma in 1980.
After graduation from Penn State, he began his career in banking as a National Bank Examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in the Western PA duty station. After working for them for 16 years, he was tired of traveling and took a position with Equibank in Pittsburgh as VP and Commercial Loan Review Examiner. He continued working in Loan Review for various banks until he retired.
Ed enjoyed watching football especially Penn State and the Steelers and also NASCAR. He also enjoyed visits from his granddogs Finley and Maisie.
Ed married the former Linda Allaman of Clarion, PA on September 14, 1974, who cared for him for many years.
Ed is survived by his wife and his daughter, Amy Roberts (James Keith) of Columbia, SC. He is also survived by his sister, Rhonda Salser of Knox, PA, a nephew Gregg Salser of Fort Wayne, Indiana, an aunt Beverly Heath of Dubois, PA and multiple cousins.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law Earl Salser of Knox, 2 nephews, Scott Salser of Indiana, PA and Andrew Dowling of Titusville, PA and a niece, Debra Dowling of Titusville, PA.
Family and friends will be received from 10:00 until 11:00 am on July 19th at William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox, PA 16232.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on July 19th at William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox, PA 16232.
