Evelyn Grace Harris Hinson

Grace Harris Hinson, 94, of Blythewood, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the home of her daughter. Born January 24, 1917 in Columbia she was a daughter of the late Edward Harris and Ollie Hollis Harris. She was a longtime member of Fairlawn United Methodist Church. Grace had retired after 25 years of service as a bookkeeper with Wachovia Bank in Columbia.

The funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock Friday, August 26 at Fair Lawn United Methodist Church with The Rev. Donald R. Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Thursday evening at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Dr., Columbia. Memorials may be made to Fair Lawn United Methodist Church, 9203 Wilson Blvd., Columbia, SC 29203.

Survivors include a daughter, Abbie H. (Dean) Miles of Blythewood; grandchildren, Sueann (John) Nates of Elgin; Deana Glazier of Blythewood; great-grandchildren, Graydon, Gracie, Hannah, Alex; sister, Esther H. Wilson of Greenville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd, as well as a number of sisters and brothers.

The family would like to thank Regency Hospice as well as her loving friend, Lowrene Hill who gave such excellent care during her time of illness.
