Evelyn Weed Metz

COLUMBIA – Evelyn Weed Metz, 59, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012. Born December 4, 1952 in Lexington, SC, she was a daughter of Elsie H. Weed-Lorick and the late Henry O’Merle Weed, Sr. Evelyn was a social worker with DSS.

A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pets Inc., 300 Orchard Drive, Columbia, SC 29170.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Walter Metz; sister, Gwen Floyd; brothers, Henry O. Weed, Jr. (Peggy) and Richard A. Weed; several nieces and nephews and her four legged son, “Jack”.

If you knew Evelyn you were truly blessed. The world is a better place due to her presence. She loved with all of her heart and gave big hugs. She loved her family, friends, and all living creatures. She enjoyed the serenity of nature, listening and singing loudly to the music of the 60’s and tooling around in her green Karmann Ghia, watching re-runs on Andy of Mayberry, chatting on the phone daily with family and friends, eating boiled peanuts, doing crossword puzzles, being retired, and she especially enjoyed being at home with her pets.
