Frances L. Britton
HOBE SOUND, FL – Frances L. Britton, 89, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart. Frances was born in Columbia, SC and has resided in Hobe Sound for 24 years coming from Columbia.
She retired from Trident Technical College in North Charleston, SC. Frances was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hobe Sound and had volunteered at the church thrift shop. She had been an Eaglewood 9 Hole Golfer and played bridge and Mahjong.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, James T. Britton of Hobe Sound, loving son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Sheryl Britton of Palm City and her cherished grandchildren, Jamie, Kathy, Heather, Christopher and Kevin.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 at First United Methodist Church of Hobe Sound. Services will also be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in the Elmwood Mausoleum Chapel, Columbia, SC.
