George Maison Weathers Jr.

Columbia: A funeral service will be held for George M. Weathers, Jr., 57, of Columbia, 4 o’clock, Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Midway Independent Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Hacker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Martin, Glenn Faile, Willis Lee, Paul Rochester, Jr., Brandon Martin, and Chris Branham. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 3 o’clock. Memorials to assist with the funeral expenses may be made to Midway Independent Methodist Church, 8481 Old Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29223.

Mr. Weathers passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 24, 2011. Born in Union, SC, on January 31, 1954, to the late George M. Weathers, Sr. and Nellie Nicewander Weathers, he had served in the US Army and was a service tech with Suddeth Automotive.

George will forever be remembered by his sisters, Elizabeth Martin of Columbia, Barbara Ann Weathers of Enoree, Catherine O. Almond of Orangeburg, and Deborah Reed of North; brothers, Glenn Rochester of Moore, SC, Shawn Weathers of Greenville, and Wayne Weathers of Spartanburg; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Tennie Louise Wylde; and brother, Paul Rochester.
