I was so happy to receive a telephone call from Daniel this afternoon for I had not heard from him in a long time; however, at the same time, I was saddened to learn of Gerry's death. I had wondered just a few days ago why I had not gotten a post from her on Face Book for a while. I became acquainted with Gerry when she lived in Tallahassee, FL back in the 50's, at which time she worked at Tallahassee State Bank with my sister, Vera Case, and the two became forever friends. Actually, I knew Gerry before I met her Uncle Bannie, my now deceased husband. There are so many wonderful things I could say about Gerry, but it would take up too much space and we all know what those are.
My sister, Vera, has asked that I express her sympathy to the family. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend services for Gerry, but to the entire Haines-Rice Family, I send my love to each of you. God Bless!!
