Gloria Jean Skipper Pritchard

West Columbia: Gloria Jean Pritchard, 63, of West Columbia, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, November 3, 2011. Born in Hamlet, NC, she was the daughter of Jackson L. Skipper, Sr. and the late Doris Crawley Skipper. A member of Truth Baptist Church, Gloria will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Dr. Vernon W. Pritchard; daughter, Kristie Hardy and husband, Michael, of Lexington; son, David Pritchard and wife, Leigh, of Pelion; father, Jackson L. Skipper, Sr. and wife, Marie, of Columbia; grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon Myers, Brooke and Jonathan Pritchard; brothers, Charles Skipper of West Columbia, Ron Skipper of Lexington, and Jackson L. Skipper, Jr. of Louisville, KY.

The funeral service for Mrs. Pritchard will be held at 3:30 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, November 6, 2011, at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. The Rev. Dr. Vernon W. Pritchard and The Rev. Dr. Ronald LaFlam will be officiating. Burial will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends prior to the service, beginning at 2:30 o’clock. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made as memorials to Truth Baptist Church, 104 Cedarlane Parkway, West Columbia, SC 29170.
