Ian Rothery Ray

COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Ian Rothery Ray, 78, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel with entombment in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends after the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Foundation, P.O. Box 100199, Dept. 274, Columbia, SC or the Mission Fund at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church 6952 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29212.

Mr. Ray was born September 6, 1933 in Lima, Peru, South America and went to be with his beloved Savior on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. He was a son of the late John William Ray and Evelyn A. Youlton Ray. Mr. Ray was an International Banker in Canada, England, Colombia, Venezuela, North Carolina and South Carolina retiring as Vice President of International Services of South Carolina National Bank in Columbia, SC. Having immigrated to the USA from England in 1972, he was proud of his United States Citizenship and his focus in life lay in Bible reference 2nd Timothy 1:12(b) and the returning Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mr. Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Mortimer Ray; children, Nicole (Randy) McCaskill and Neil (Melissa) Ray; his grandchildren, Malcolm I. and Hilary J. McCaskill, Garrison T. Ray, Lydia E. Ray and Anna Grace Ray.
