Irma Price Raines

Irma Price Raines, born June 21, 1928 in Lexington, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior at age 81 on Monday June 14, 2010. Irma was the daughter of the late Dewey D. Price and Dora Amick Price. She retired from the SC Department of Revenue. Her greatest joys in life were her family, her church brothers and sisters at Columbia Evangelical Church, the Mid-Carolina Camellia Society and Columbia High School Class of 1945 where she was a co-organizer of the annual class reunion.

Survivors include: her husband of 61 years, John D. “Jack” Raines; son, Bobby Raines; daughter, Sharon Hanger and husband Lee; grandchildren, Justin and Kyle Hanger and Justin’s fiancée Jessica Smith. Also surviving are her brothers, Murray Price and wife Frances and Bill Price and wife Sandra; sisters Helen Granzow and Azalie Sharpe; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Wesley Price and her parents.

The funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 18, 2010 in the Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Newell officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at Greenlawn Funeral Home from 9:00 am until the hour of the service. Committal and burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family requests no food or flowers be sent to the home.
