Jack L.B. Melton

Mr. Melton was the former owner/operator of United Pest Control where he served his community for many years. He later went to work for Terminix for which he retired.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Skipper Melton, whom he shared 54 memorable years of his life; son, Bryan Melton; daughter, Kimberly (Jim) Brown; grandchildren, Jimmi and Caleb Brown; and his beloved dog, “Sam”.

The funeral service for Mr. Melton will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 at 2 o’clock at Spring Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church, 107 Roseberry Road , Columbia, SC 29223 with burial following in the church cemetery. Pastor Steven Lewis will be officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Branham , William Frankenfield, Paul Isbell, David Walsh, Gerald Brazell, Harold Ross and Donald Mcelveen, The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 o’clock at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC 29203.
