CAMDEN – James “Jimi” Christopher Benson passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017. He was born April 2, 1982 in West Columbia.
He was a certified HVAC Technician and a tattoo artist. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. Jimi was a magician at heart and a very comedic story teller. He was a motorcycle enthusiast. Jimi was a believer and follower of the Wiccan Faith. He was the best friend to his brother, Johnny, and they were inseparable since childhood. Jimi was known for his charismatic personality and colorful style.
He is survived by his father, Johnny M. Benson, Sr. and step-mother, Sheila Boulware Benson; mother, Sandra Holder; brother, Johnny Benson, Jr. and his wife, Amber Priddy; sister, Amy Knox and step-brother, Steven Boulware; step-sister, Shannon (Kevin) Steele; nieces, Penelope Benson, Isabella Priddy, Kristin (Steven) Kosonovich, Kayden and Lacy Jones, Ava and Brynlee Steele and his beloved four-legged son, Chopper.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 501 Elmwood Ave., Columbia, SC 29201.
