James Hardy Burch

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for James Hardy Burch, 78, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel with interment in Bush River Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or Boys Home Inc., 414 Boy’s Home Road, Covington, VA 24426.

Mr. Burch was born January 23, 1934 in Ruby, SC and passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012. He was a son of the late Leo Harold Burch and Mary Etta Sutton. He was a sales representative in the Paper Mill Industry. Mr. Burch was a founding member of SAPIS – Senior Association of Paper Industry Suppliers. He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Burch was a sports enthusiast and coach and served on the organizing committee for the Hartsville Recreation Department.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Mary Burch; daughter, Della B. Case (John Mark); son, Douglas M. Burch; brothers, Billy Burch, Bobby Burch, Harry Burch (Sharon) and Mike Burch (Donna); grandchildren, Douglas, Daniel and Claire Burch and Connor Case and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Frank Burch.
